In a Wink

Jimi said ," The story of life is quicker than the wink of an eye, The story of love is say 'Hello' and 'Good-Bye' until we meet again ". But many beautiful things, sweet and better things happen in a wink's span. We come across things which become part of our lives or atleast we wish that these things would be with us forever, but they soon disappear. If its a ferrari , we can always convince ourselves that it is for the opulent world. If its a bird , we can get accustomed to the fact that its life span is shorter than humans. But what if it  is a human? what if it is you? what if it is your life that you are going to lose in less than a wink's span? Can you be able to accept the fact that what you thought eternal is just ephemeral. You walked across a lonely road with your shadow  and when you turn back, the shadow is high above the sky , miles and miles away scorning at you, at your mere human attitude. How do you feel when you realize that the road through which you tavelled, u painted ur memories disappeared in a wink, when you turned back. Its like standing on a small, lone chunk of ice surrounded by the cold mysterical waters.
Its just then you (or atleast I) begin to think that why are'nt we processed programs. Why cant we use the shift -delete button in our lives? Why our lives do not have a rewind-erase button? A few say its a gift, I say its a curse. Yea, 'memory' is a curse at times. It makes it really hard for us to digest the fact that thing (human) you met a while is gone forever. It would happen in less than a sec or two.
At times these musings trigger the same old thought in my mind: " Be a God or be a Machine, but never be a human ." Because many things happen to us in a wink's span which we cant control, but we always respond.
